Wand'ring In Star-Flight
The TV shows and the movies they spawned are canon for this game, except where they contradict each other. Some elements may be deprecated. Fun elements from fanon may be added as desired.
This game takes place in the Prime Timeline and not the Kelvin "Abramsverse" Timeline. Fun as those three movies might be, they can't equal almost a thousand hours of broadcast Trek.
The bulk of this game starts in the year 2379, right after Nemesis but before Lower Decks (according to the Star Trek Timeline).
USS Endeavour
The game, at least to start, is set aboard the USS Endeavour (NCC-1895-C). The Endeavour-C is a Galaxy-class starship launched in 2364, one year after the Enterprise-D. The ship's name was controversial, a rarity for the 24th-Century. While previous ships named Endeavour were generally positive additions to history, the original HMS Endeavour brought colonialism to native cultures causing great harm. After much debate, the name was approved.
In her time, the Enterprise's 'shy sister' has done a fair share of intelligence and other classified work (possibly even the bidding of Section 31). So her complete record is not known to your average Starfleet officer. Families assigned to Endeavour tend to have a reason to keep a low profile.
It is known that the Endeavour was almost destroyed at the Battle of Wolf 359 and again during the Dominion War.
I am keeping canon to the TV shows and associated movies. That is enough continuity for anyone and fanon contradictions are countless. The year 2379 is after the end of the relatively fixed Next Generation Era continuity but just before the still developing continuity of the Lower Decks and Picard series. This is a great time to pass the torch between generations. It is also after the return of Voyager to the Alpha Quadrant allowing for elements of the Delta Quadrant to be brought into the game with no strain.
The name 'Endeavour' does have some baggage and I want to be sensitive to that. But the original Endeavour is one of the few naned and canon Enterprise Refit class ships known. Endeavour is also one of the rare names of a a Space Shuttle (like Discovery and Enterprise). And the three syllable name beginning with 'En-' evokes her more famous sister, not a bad role model.
